LSCRX, I was able to find one locally for $50 at another wrecking yard out of a 95 so it should be a drop in replacement for me. I really appreciate you giving me first chance at this one though.

No sweat, they’re selling for $100+ on eBay... well worth the effort to clean it up a little bit.
I picked up my cluster today and it looks great. Needs a little cleanup but overall pretty good. I am going to swap out my speedo so the mileage stays correct. Do I need to worry about doing anything to calibrate any of the others gauges?
When I swapped mine (a couple years ago) it was plug and play. I swapped my speedo into the tach cluster, and everything worked... and has been working since.
I got all the parts together today for the swap. Cleaned up the gauges, plugged it in and everything works (after I figured out I need to plug in the connector for the fuel tank switch even though it's just a blank and I only have one tank) except the oil pressure gauge. As soon as I turn the key on it pegs out all the way to the left and never moves. The old gauge was working fine so I know its not the sender. Any thing I should look for (loose connection etc.?) or did I just get one with a bad pressure gauge?
Hello, this is an upgrade I'd like to do on my truck. I have a 96 CCLB auto transmission 5.8L; which year(s) are the best donor? I'm not interested in re-pinning the wiring harness. Thanks

95/96(97 for F250,F350) years are plug and play for your truck. Does not matter if its a V8 or I6 engine as the truck's wire harness will tell tach what it is.
The 95 & 96 are different in the RABS circuit.
We had a poster try putting a 95 in a 96 and had problems with that circuit.
I do not remember the outcome if he got it to work or not as the 95 was missing something in that circuit.
Tonight was my first time driving at night and the the far left two gauges don't light up as bright as the rest of them. I swapped out the gauges lights with LED's and the rest of them look great. Anyone run across that before? I know that far left illumination bulb is working.
Also, when running the fuel gauge shows the correct level but when I shut the truck off the gauge slowly goes all the way to full. When I turn the key back on it slowly goes back to the correct position. Is that normal? I don't remember the old one doing that.

They are physically identical but NOT electrically compatible. Even the 92 to 96 E-series van clusters are physically the same as the F-series clusters but they are not electrically compatible with any years of the F-series trucks.
You can re-pin the vehicle's harness to make it work as I did when I put a F-series tach cluster into my 95 E350 Bus.
Sorry that I'm late to the party by a couple of years, but I am wanting to do this with my 1995 E-350 motor home. So, am I understanding correctly that year to year is plug and play, but a difference in the years would determine if you need to re-pin the connectors? Or, are the E-350's totally different electrically than the F-150-350? I bought a '95 F-250 cluster w/tach. I found someone on another forum that made the different years swap and has the pin out changes he made. I'm nervous doing the swap without some more info and you seem to have it. Hopefully you see this and can give me a hand. Thank you in advance.
E series van clusters ARE NOT plug and play with any F series clusters at all. You must repin your E series van cluster wire harness to which ever year F series cluster you have. Then you will have to add the tachometer wire, vans never had it of this era. That is a simple wire from cluster to negative(tach) side of ignition coil.

Hi Eddie,
Thank you for your response. I have read through the old thread. That was a lot of information and, yes, it is too bad that all the photos were deleted. I think my last hesitation is making sure I get the 1995 F-250 pin out and then start the changing. Do you still happen to have the 1995 F-xxx color code/pin out? When I bought my cluster, the yard pulled it for me. I guess I can go to the pull-n-save and try to find one.
