Loud bang while driving.
So last night we were headed up to the camper for the rest of the week. About 45 min from home while driving there was a loud bang from the right rear. The wife sounded panicked when she asked what that was as I tapped the brakes. I guess hearing it made me tap them a little harder that I ment to. We pulled over at the next road off the two lane we were on stoped, get out and start looking under the excursion. Brakes, suspension, drive line all looked good. We open the back to see if anything shifted and nothing seems out of place. Then I realized I'm having to hold the lift gate open. The right strut broke loose while driving. The plastic end split in two.
I guess that cheap struts have their draw backs. I ordered another cheap set from rockauto anyway.

On my v10 my strut broke in the back. Problem was it was the top mount that broke. And it was resting on the gas tank. If i hadn't seen it and hit the wrong bump, it would have punctured the tank.

... I think you're talking about different struts.
