Mark me down as being proud to be an American.
I was sad to see that the percentage of Americans that have pride in our country was at 47 percent according to USA Today.
Happy 4th!
Stay Proud!
God Bless!
Presidents come and go. We have elections every four years. Some Presidents are better than others, but the individual who happens to be in the White House at any given time is not what makes us proud. We are proud because of who we are and what we have done. We are proud because of the basic goodness and generosity of our country. The world is a better place because of the United States. It was the United States that turned the tide in World War l, and saved the world from facism in World War ll. It is the trillions of dollars that the United States has spent on defense since 1945 that has prevented another world war. Wherever there is trouble in the world, the United States is there--ready, willing, and able to help. Count me as proud to be an American!

Well said Jim!
I am in Granby Co. today and was at a parade. Nothing but Pride on display there.
God Bless America and our friends and neighbors, North, South, East and West.
I went shopping today and I was driving down Rt 69 in Prescott; US Flags were posted about every 30 feet on both sides of the highway. I received a veteran's discount at every store I went into. I was driving my 465hp Camaro SS; it was a replacement to the '69 Z28 I was going to buy after graduating college and before Uncle Sam drafted me. I had a smile on my face. Life has been good and it's because I live in a great country.
It was an honor to be placed up with the color guard and the veterans in our local 4th of July parade. My truck spent its military career at the Coast Guard base in Sault Ste. Marie and has probably been in parades before. It's been 60 years or so since its last appearance, however. The military was always a major feature of the parades in the Soo in the 1950's. In addition to the Coast Guard, there were also big Army and Air Force bases in the Soo at the time. My Dad maybe drove my truck or marched behind it in long past parades. We always went to all the parades and always took our hats off and stood for the flag.

Awesome Picture!
The parade in Granby had Military Vets from the Korean war to present. Sadly no Vets from WW2. When the Color Guard presented Colors all stood who were able, with hand on heart.
God Bless America
One of my distant memories from long ago parades in the Soo were seeing ancient proud and decorated veterans from the Spanish American War.

Wow! You must be old, JIm! LOL Or they were old. I do remember as a kid seeing headlines in the newspaper about a Civil War vet dying... so I am old too.
Your truck looks great. I like how you fastened the flags to your mirror arms.
