Hey Abe. My son-in-law was here for the week-end and I showed him the parade picture. He has parents, grandparents, and an uncle buried in Arlington. He said the only proper place to display an American flag on a vehicle is on the front bumper. The mirror thing is all wrong according to him. Just passing on what I was told--LOL.

P.S. I am old and becoming more so everyday.
Have you ever seen those flag holders that hold 3 to 5 small flags? That could be fastened on your bumper where your license plate bolt hole is. Or is the proper way to mount a flag on a military truck is to mount the flag pole on the end of the bumper?
Yes, I have seen those multi flag holders. I could see myself using something like that. A quick internet search of flag etiquette didn't confirm my Son-in-Law's limited opinion on what is permitted on military vehicles. He could be right, but I have certainly seen flags displayed in lots of ways on vehicles--military and otherwise. It was the parade organizers themselves who attached flags to my mirrors after all. I'm patriotic, but not such a stickler for obscure rules. I just passed along my Son-in-Law's rather stuffy reaction to my parade adventure. I'm certainly not setting myself up as someone wanting (or qualified) to give advice on how members should or shouldn't decorate their trucks for parades.
