Anyone on here with A/C knowledge? Got an 09 Expedition EL, compressor clutch is engaging, low side PSI a little over 100 lbs on a 90F day, air in cab is not cold. Blend door is functioning as air turns much hotter when i bump the thermostat up. Any help would be appreciated.
That low side pressure suggests that the compressor isn't actually doing anything. At 990F ambient, we'd expect pressure to be around 105 psi static pressure. Check the center shaft of the compressor to see if it is turning with the clutch hub during engagement. If it is, was the ANY drop in the low side pressure when the clutch engaged?
As it turns out the inner portion of the clutch was not moving, while the outer portion was engaging/disengaging with the pulley. So the clutch appears bad. Here's my newest problem. I can't get enough grip on the inner hub to break the 8mm bolt loose. I'm using vice grips to clamp the inner and outer portions of the clutch together. If i could figure out a way to command the clutch to engage (with the engine not running) i think it would create sufficient force for me to break the bolt loose. I'm using forscan. Currently searching their forums.
O7 EB EL, 100k+ miles....air only works well at highway speed, on max. Otherwise, only blows cool. I have no gauges so I don't know my pressures, but I have charged the system and it does not cycle on low pressure. That's the extent of my AC troubleshooting ability..... Can I get some direction on what I should look at next, please??

Based on your description it sounds like you're still undercharged. A set of manifold gauges would really tell us a lot.
100% correct. Put another # in and it worked great until last week. Compressor went...Got guages, ZERO pressure and would not take any 134a. Replaced compressor but I have a post asking about the desiccant element. Can't seem to find ANY info. Please search it for me, and tell me what you think. Cheers!
