Morning everyone. Welcome to July!
Thanks Jim for starting this months thread. I thought today was the end of the month. Apparently I'm a day off this week.

 

Been there, done that. I knew today was the first though as I normally get paid from the VA on the first, but when it lands on a weekend, they pay the Friday before. BTW, you're welcome.

How are you and Kaedon doing?

We're doing better. We decided not to go to court & let the TPO expire. I dont think the gun toten' ex marine is going to be bothering us anymore. I think he realized that this mama bear will protect her cub even it I put my own life on the line.

Good to be home, two weeks traveling is too much I think. But we had fun. The Equinox avg. 30 mpg.
Went to most or the National Parks in Utah, NM, SW CO, & AZ.
Before we left we bought a new travel trailer. We live a good portion of your time living in our RV. So Tomorrow I pull our old trailer to Fallon. Thursday we will switch our stuff into the new trailer. Then Tues we will pull it back to Hawthorne.
I have had to hire help, I'm not able to do what I once could. I'm still a ways away from a complete recovery.
I'll check in as I can.

I found out the truck still doesn't care for the 110+ heat. It either vapor locked or lost prime from the tank. I thought the pump had gone out again.
I am thinking about either sleeving or wrapping the fuel line from the manual pump to the carb. Will exhaust wrap work for that? I wonder if they make a plate for the single barrel carbs.

 

I don't know if exhaust wrap would work for that, but I don't see a reason for it not to.

edit: Is the fuel line running too close to the engine somewhere? I remember working on my Mopars way back when that would vapor lock. The fuel line was running between the block and alternator as it came up from the pump. I bought a section of fuel hose, and routed it out to the fender, and then over the alternator, and no more vapor lock.

Are you talking about the 70?
I know my 67 used to vapor lock all the time & leave my stranded on the side of the road until it cooled down. Seems like they're famous for that when it gets hot outside. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I seem to recall re-routeing the fuel line & replacing the carburetor when I had the engine rebuilt & that seemed to cure it.

Donna, yup this is on the 70. I guess it just doesn't care for 110+ temps. I can't say that I blame it.
I thought I had the issues worked out as this is the first time it has been an issue since. I don't normally drive it in these temps since I have the Jeep with AC.
Jeep is going through some changes so the truck has been my daily even in the heat.
