First chink in the armor.....:(
EGT sensor stuff.....
I'm assuming this is emission warranty??(no deductible)
If not, I do have premium care with $50 deductible.
I'll take her in early next week.
(I did have an intermittent window regulator that the dealer r&r....not really counting that...lol)
Thanks....and I do recall that.
Wasn't the problem with our trucks going into limp mode....or shutting down??
My CEL doesn't seem to affect any drivability......I even did a 40 mile loop yesterday and the MPG LIE-O-METER was still over 20.

Update if anyone cares.
They've had my truck now going on 2 weeks.
1st excuse was they stripped an EGT sensor and were working on it.
2 or 3 phone calls of "we'll call you back."
Today I get "wating for customer approval."
I asked WTF does that mean.
Guy transfers me....I get an answering machine.
I said screw it and drove to the stealership....in my 170,000 mile Toyota.
Corner the service writer. He pulls up the R0 and says between sensors and "bias something arother" it'll be $700.
I started laughing in his face.
First off, when were you going to tell me this??
2nd, there's at least 3 warranties in affect between the service buellitin mentioned here, the emissions warranty and my premium care Ford extended warranty.
Service writer calls some clown and gets the part numbers.....he punches them in. There's a screen for the customer....clear as day "parts covered under ONE OR MORE SERVICE CONTRACTS."
At this point, I'm doing all I can to not lose it on these idiots.
So I ask which warranty will cover it because the ESP does have the $50 deductible.
Of course it is the ESP......
I'm going to take this up with someone higher up when/if I get my truck back to see about getting the deductible waived.
Even though I know the reason service departments try like hell to not to do warranty work due to Ford allowing less money than a customer pay, what were the morons waiting for to try and BS me?? Was it going to just sit there until I physically showed up??
Love the truck, minor bump in the road for sure, but it really cements my feeling that I will not own it out of warranty when a simple CEL could be a $700 repair.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Even though the repairs I've had regarding my Fords have not been excessively frequent, seems like there's my share of drama.
A totally different dealer refused to change an alternator after 3 battery replacements on our GT-500 because their "machine" said the alternator was fine. Said they wouldn't be reimbursed if there was no test to document the R&R. Common sense prevailed and after the alternator change miraculously no more dead batteries after a few miles.
Another dealer refused to replace a screaming throw out bearing on our '97 cobra because it was part of the clutch. I had to show the service manager "throw out bearing" in print of the extended warranty.
The best ever:
'04 Lightning that would smoke after it got warm...obviously burning oil somewhere.
Of course it was a "could not duplicate" after sitting overnight and driven around the block.
I jacked up the truck and found the rear main seal leak trail myself.....they fixed it under warranty, but I didn't get MY $100 diagnostic fee....lol!!!
Sure, there's been plenty of smooth repairs over the years, but the rants usually get memorialized!!!
To be fair, I did have an unbelievable experience at a Toyota dealership regarding a horrible diagnosis. They did refund my fee after releasing the vehicle after I found the problem. (They cleared a CEL and claimed bad fuel.....charged me $100)
After CEL came back on after leaving the dealership, I got the codes from vato-zone and found the air filter to MAF was disconnected.
My bad....I got lazy BECAUSE I had an extended warranty.
I now have my own scanners because of that experience....that's why I knew the codes on this CEL.
Some worthless trivia: my tier 4 Kubota (hoping it doesn't turn into a nightmare. need to bring that in to the one and only dealer in town that has Kubota's software ) actually shows the codes on the dash as opposed to a CEL and need for a scanner.
