Maybe I should check the tightness of the battery cables on the battery.

Check both ends if you can get to them..

Afew years back my truck was acting like the battery was done, when it was just loose cables on the battery.

Yeah I have seen that also.. Might just need corrosion cleaned off too

Every time it goes in for service the cables are suppose to be cleaned. I haven't been checking to see if they are slacking.

That is probably why the truck had a loose cable. After they cleaned it they didn't tighten it.
Good cheap help is hard to come by.
