2010 F-250 5.4L. So my compressor clutch bearing took a dump. Replaced the compressor, the accumulator, and the serpentine belt. Had it towed to the dealer to finish filling with oil, connect the refrigerant lines to the compressor, and charge with Freon. The dealer also told me that they replaced an electrical connector (I assume the one at the compressor itself).
Problem is that it still doesn’t work. Turn on the AC and the clutch doesn’t seem to pull in, and no cold air. I did swap the power relay with the one from the windshield wipers and still no love.
I would appreciate any ideas on what to look for, and if someone has a system diagram for the AC I would greatly appreciate it.
Ya take it back to the dealer. I would believe it was working when you picked up the truck. it had to be working when they charged the compressor. You know that you could have just replaced the bearing on the clutch without replacing all that stuff.
Might also check the air gap on the A/C clutch. To much and it wont engage properly. And find out what electrical connector was replace, make sure that is not the problem. And, as silly as it sounds, make sure the connection to the clutch, and the low pressure switch are plugged in.
