I am wondering if a 1970 NP435 will bolt into my 1970 F350 that has a t18? My t18 has a pto and I'm also wondering if it will fit and work with the NP435. What will be the modifications needed, if any. for this swap. Both transmissions are 1970's out of F350"s, both 2WD, and both have 360 engines. Will there be any driveshaft issues? I appreciate any info/help, Thanks.
It should bolt up to the bell and use the same clutch. The transmission to bell is the same. Input length, spline, input tip and bearing retainer are the same.
Overall length differs by 1".
The 1" MAY be an issue; you will have to measure and see if you have any adjustment in your mountings.
Thanks for the response. My t18 has some bearing groan in 3rd gear and the shifter is like a golf club stirring in a 55 gallon drum! I believe these two problems can be repaired but I thought if if I could just yank one trans out and pop another one in ..............
