HELP! can't get into program mode

I need help (f150 2000 4x4 5.4) .... I am trying to program a keyless entry remote and the truck will not go into program mode. Method used> insert key and turn from position 3 to 4 eight times within 10 sec... at this point the truck should lock and unlock the doors to signify that it is in prog mode. IT DOES NOT! I have been trying for a couple of hours and no luck. I need some help here.

are you sure you have keyless entry on that truck?

same problem

I have the same problem with my 99 f150. The owners manual says it has keyless entry, but states you have to go to your dealer to have them programmed.

Normally, if it doesn't work by doing the key thing, it isn't equiped with keyless entry.

The owners manual talking about keyless entry doesn't mean that it has keyless. Not all were equipped.

One way to do a physcial check is to look under the drivers side dash for a white box on the firewall to the left of the brake pedal. If it says Remote Access on it and has a 5 digit number in large bold lettering it probably has keyless.
