Loudish hum after turning off F350.

Loudish hum after turning off F350.

After I shut off 2011 F350 there is a loudish hum that sounds maybe a pump is running?

Hard to pinpoint perhaps under the hood.

Any ideas what this might be?

The DEF pump does reverse flow and pump the DEF out of the line that runs from the tank to the nozzle in the exhaust pipe. This might be what you are hearing if not under the hood.

Glad you pointed this out.

Yep the sound is coming from near the fuel tank under the truck.

Didn't realize there was a DEF pump. I'm sure that's what it is.
