What functionality would I lose by putting a topper on a truck that has the camera in the third brake light? I assume the topper would cover the camera, but is that camera just used for backing a trailer? What other functionality would I lose? Is there a relocation kit?
Nope. The 360 view shows you the ground around the truck and superimposes a graphic of the truck on top of it to show perspective or relation of the image to the truck. The center cab brake light camera is pointed to the middle of the bed.
Just to be sure, why not put a piece of painters tape over it and see what happens for a couple of days?
I don't own the truck yet. I'm in the market for one and I'm pretty sure I want to put a topper on it for camping, pets, etc. The truck I'm looking at has a pretty good deal on it, but it has this camera. So, I want to figure out how much money I'd be wasting paying for this truck with this camera if it never gets used and what functionality would be lost.
