Hey guys. Been having some trouble with my 84 f150. Truck starts fine but the heater, and blinkers dont work unless I rotate and hold the key forwards towards the start position. Is this the cylinder or the switch. I dont really know what part to order and I dont want to take it apart until I know what is up because I use this truck as my daily driver. Than you!
Before you order anything you can try and adjusting the switch.
It is bolted to the steering column with 2 screws, think 5/16" heads.
The switch has slots and can be moved. I cant remember now just how its done but you can try a little movement and test.
If not good go the other way and test again.
I would say the easiest to replace is the switch if you were going to do either.

I recommend flooding the upper tumbler area with wd 40, and replacing the switch under the dash on top of the column. Make sure you use the alignment pin that comes with the new switch.
