AUH connection 2 help

hello, i'm new at all this 5w and hitch stuff , so please bare with me.

my fifth wheel will be here shortly, and for right now i have the B&W turn over ball , my plan is either the B&W companion slider or the AUH connection 2. and i'm leaning towards the AUH and the slider hitch is my last rtesort, but this where i need your help or advise.

who runs the AUH set up w/f350 6.7 short box, do any of you use a 4" offset gooseneck ball and AUH together, what pin box do you have, do you have any issues with the AUH?
i hear people say i wouldn't use the AUH if they were towing a heavy 5W, so what's HEAVY to not use the AUH? i need to purchase a hitch with n the next few days.

thanks for your input
here is my 5W specs

pin wt dry : 1912
dry wt: 12K
gvwr: 15K

I have a similar sized 5ver. I certainly don’t consider it a heavy one either.

I have a F350 as you describe and I use the steel gooseneck AUH. I have an 5” offset gooseneck ball with the AUH kingpin adapter pointing to the rear of the trailer. Works and tows great. I can make full 90 degree turns with this setup.

I have the standard pin box. Don’t need anything else.

Here is a photo of my rig.

I’ll be hooking up tomorrow and I’ll post pictures of my connections then.

I too was a non-believer, but I’m now a full convert!

I understand that the steel gooseneck is no longer available unless you get the rail mount.

We understand....but there MAY not be anyone with that combo. My advice to to ask Andersen. Call them, they have great customer service.

Sorry it was a late night. Had to setup on the dark and forgot the picture.

Here is just my AUH with my drawtite 5” offset goose ball.

Here is how the kingpin connection is oriented.

With it setup this way I have better turning room and have some breathing room between the tailgate and camper when hitching up.

what are you asking? if you are thinking of the andersen ultimate you need gooseneck ball. this is how the AUH is attached.

others have checked their weights before and after and the weight change was negligible at best. Something like 50 to 100 lbs.

i have not noticed a difference either way.

what goosenech hitch do you have? if b&w you will take your ball out and replace it with your extension. if it’s a reese it will be the same process.
