Can anyone tell me how to disable the automatic arming for a factory alarm(1999 Ford Expedition). Not sure what happened, but now it automatically sets itself after about 1 minute. I want to be able to set it manually from my remote transmitter.
Heh Buzzard my 00 has some sort of factory alarm. One time for no apparent reason the truck just began to start honking and flashing and one time I opened the door with the key (rarely do that) and it went off. I even have one of those flashing alarm lights in the dash (the one that you can hardly see and a thief would probably never notice).

HMMM, Did you buy new? Dealer option?
Mine has honked and flashed in the past too, but only when my daughter got hold of the keys and pushed the panic button.
I actually did not by it new but I don't believe an aftermarket one was added either. I suppose I could be mistaken (it has happened once or twice in the past).
I have a Ford alarm not factory installed. There is a programming procedure for automatic/ manual arming. I'll try to look it up tonight.
Apparently, yours is set for automatic arming. Incidentally, mine will also trigger the alarm if it is armed but then the door is opened without disarming it. I believe it is supposed to operate that way.
