Looking for some help regarding the value of a running 1954 C600.
I have to move it to California which will cost about $1500 to $2000 plus it needs to be tagged and some mechanical upgrades to make it more usable (cooling, brakes, tires, some electrical, etc). I was then thinking of farming it out for events/photo shoots or sell it. I can't find enough data from my searches to determine the value of a running truck that is nearly 100% original.
Welcome to FTE 54roach. Looks like a very nice straight truck. You are only limited by your imagination on what you want to do with it. If I was you, I'd flip a coin on full original restore or restomod. Sounds to me though that you are considering just flipping it. Are you doing any of the work yourself?
Was going to do the work myself with maybe a few exceptions. As you know, these trucks are mechanically straightforward.
Any idea of what these are worth? Even if I keep it I'd like to know the value.
Joe
The value is quite nebulous really. It's what a willing buyer will pay, but the more road-ready and complete it is, the more it's worth. It also depends on the area you're in, and what similar trucks have sold for. Personally, I think you could go North of $4k with it as-is. Other opinions may vary.
Is it a dump bed? What engine and drive train does it have? Got a pic of the interior?
V8, 4sp with 2sp dif, interior is original and complete except for the turn signal. I'll have more pics later.
Not a dump bed.
I'm in California, not a huge market for these except as props. I love the idea of keeping it, making it useful for work I need to do, and renting it out to companies for events/movies. There are a few dents/body repairs I would like to do but the current condition is perfect for my needs.
Your number is encouraging as I thought it might be lower (less than 3k).

I'll speculate that the more period correct the looks are the more valuable it would also be as a movie prop/extra. I have a tendency to pick up on things like that in a movie and call BS.

Like the army green bus on MASH. It is a 54 and the Korean Conflict was over in 53...
abe,
it's in Kansas now.
looking to use a local person that we have used before to move it to California. If you have a recommendation for a mover, be happy to give them a shot.
