Alternator upgrade
I was wondering if there was a "3g" alternator upgrade for the 92-96/97 F150s, so I got on RockAuto and looked at replacement alternators for my 94. Turns out *some* of our trucks came from the factory with 130 amp alternators, while the rest of us got stuck with the 75.
Problem is, those are 2 very different alternators (different mounts and everything), so I was wondering if anyone had stumbled across an alternative? I already checked the "tips" section, and the mounts for the Taurus 3g alternator are different than the typical 92-96/97 trucks.
Any ideas?

I know of two possibilities: Check your year and model on Summit Racing and see if there is an aftermarket alt made that will fit. The other maybe is to google ford 3g alternator rebuild. There is a great youtube vid by a company that specializes in parts and rebuilds for alts. For some alts they sell kits to bump the amps in an existing alt. I guess the third option would be ck ebay and the junkyards for the mount needed for the other oem alt.
