2017 SD: My Long Term "Build" Thread
I also found a random dead end road and decided to stop and get some good pictures. I’ll post those in another reply below.
FYI: I spend WAY more than I'm proud to admit on car detailing stuff and have tried A LOT, but I can't say everything since there is so much available nowadays. With this truck I've become meticulous and have been trying everything to find the best products I can that work for me and make cleaning this big *** truck easier. Here is what I'm using;

Thanks for the response. I went with what I could, for now. Will get the rest in a week or two. I was the one that commented on your IG so no need to respond. Thanks for putting this together!!!
Also, what do you use to clean the undercarriage, axles, arms, frame etc? Everything I ordered that you suggested was spot on. That hydrofoam was great and so was the adams quick spray.

If the truck is really dirty (like it is right now) I always try to foam the truck with Reset and rinse it before physically washing it; again too with Reset. If it's clean, I can skip the foam step and I'd use HydroFoam in a bucket. HydroFoam can be used without the foam cannon just like any other soap, but I like it when the truck is clean since its a soap/sealant combo. I always use the bucket wash method to keep the abrasive contaminates in the mitt/soap to a minimum since my truck is black. Once the truck is clean, I use the "sheeting method" which is basically using the garden hose with no attachment to get big water sheeting action to draw off as much water from the paint as I can (I've got a good video of this sheeting method on my Instagram which is @bad646). Once I've done that, I'll lightly mist the bead maker on the still partially wet truck, basically using it as a drying aid, and then use my drying towels to give it the final dry. I find this way requires less passes around the truck and reduces possibly of scratching the paint and it's 100% finished with one pass around it.
For the undercarriage, man I've just been toughing it out. I've just been using Dawn dish soap and I've got a five finger wash mitt that I use for the wheels/tires/undercarriage which helps a ton. I've been trying out some different stuff for this and will let you know what works. I just bought a $130 Tornador air gun that almost vaporizes whatever diluted mixture you fill the reservoir with. I'm going to try to find something that will give me like a semi-permanent sealant on the frame and undercarriage in hopes that it makes it a little easier to keep clean.
I will say this, they're expensive, but do yourself the favor and buy two of the Griots drying towels. I've been struggling for years to find the best drying towel, and even more so with this truck because is so damn big. I've got enough washes in now with these and they're one of my absolute favorite recent finds. Previously I was going through at least three waffle weave drying towels to dry my truck, but it only takes one of the Griot's Garage PFM Terry Weave Drying Towels to do the job.
