Need help diagnosing engine noise
I recently did full timing job and also replaced VCT solenoids, cam phasers, roller followers, and lash adjusters.
I also ended up replacing transmission about a week after the engine job was completed.
During transmission replacement, exhaust pipe was disconnected between exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. This connection does not have any gasket and only has a cone shaped flanges. There was a bad exhaust leak when it was reconnected. After disconnecting and cleaning up the flange area, it did quiet down.
I still hear what sounds like exhaust leak, but I am unable to figure out if it is the flange leaking or the manifold it self (possibly the gasket?). I did not find any crack on the manifold or sooted area. I hear (possible) exhaust leak noise only upto start up and when accelerating. I cannot hear the noise with windows closed.
I also hear what sounds like fuel injectors, which are ticking noise. However, I also hear tapping noise. This tapping noise can be heard inside of the truck with windows closed. When driving, this noise cannot be heard because the frequency increases and the road noise takes over.
I may have heard these noises before the timing job was done, but because there were so much noise before, I am not so sure if this is new noise or something that has always been there.
I tired stethoscope on each injectors, but they were all equally noisy. I tried on several areas of the valve cover, they were pretty quiet. I just could not pinpoint source of the tapping noise.
Following video is recording of noise from different areas of my truck. Are these just injector noises? Is it supposed to be this loud?

Following video is tapping noise that I can hear inside of the truck with windows closed. It is very soft, so have to listen carefully.

Any ideas or suggestions?
