Good Evening,
I have a 04 Excursion, Limited, 6.0 PSD. Currently the AC is blowing out the defroster vents, I know this is the sign of a vacuum leak. I have checked the lines going to the front hubs, happened after I worked on them last time. The lines are tight, the connections are secured with double zip ties 180 degrees out from each other. I'm guessing it could be the o-rings on the locking hubs themselves, going to look for new o-rings and install them. However, I am about to take a long trip and will need the AC blowing out the normal vents to help keep everybody cool. Is there a work around to get the damper in the airbox closed so the air is directed out the dash vents?
Yep, such a great system that ties the vacuum hubs and blend door to the same pump! I had to replace my vacuum pump and went ahead and deleted the vacuum lines to the hubs and installed manual locking Warns to hopefully eliminate the nonsense.
