I got my first one from Swamps, second from Irate. Many of the major retailers sell them for lots of money. There is a thread right below you about one:

I'm getting curious about this. People seem to approach it with the view that the mechanical system is nothing but trouble and that an electric system is the solution to all your problems. I gotta wonder.

If you bought new original parts today would they last as well as the when the trucks were new? Realistically, would new parts today be expected to last another 200K miles? Talking about a new fuel pump, fuel lines and new fuel filter housing?

From the other direction, what are the common problems with conversions to electric pumps? Mostly talking over the long run but common installation related problems are of interest also?

I understand that some people do conversions to support more power, more fuel flow. Stock truck works for me.

I picked one up from Mark Fuggazzotto, he has a complete kit, ready and also lots of utube videos to help if needed. His e mail is markfuggazzoto@gmail.com it has worked great and the cost was even better. I think I got a military discount too.

Diy . Save much money and get a better product.

Or driven diesel,444fab on FB or any of the regulated return systems.

Search function will give you many diy options and opinions. This forum is huge but you have to go read and learn

My truck was leaking fuel when purchased.

Spent $130 for a new lift pump. Probably another $30 on hoses and a reseal kit for the old housing. $20 for an OEM filter. $15 for another OEM cap, maybe $5 on good clamps. Say $10 on freight. Plus say four hours to R&R that bull****. Guess what, still leaked. I was an unhappy camper.

Pulled the housing AGAIN and replaced the hoses as I run a ton of B99 fuel, figuring maybe I needed Viton and something was not tight.

STILL LEAKED. After that, figured it was corrosion on the housing as there is no where else for the thing to leak. Rather than **** away another $300 for a new assembly and hours more of my life, I purchased that electronic fuel system kit. $300 and $210 is $510 or about 75% of the way toward the e-fuel...BUT factor in all the damned time I have wasted, time is money, AND FUEL LEAKED OUT which costs money. I should have just gone e-fuel from the onset.

The only problems I can see for install are incorrect usage of compression fittings. Walbro pumps last a long *** time, have had one on my turbo BMW for nearly ten years. A good Bosch 044 would be another consideration. Everything new on the road has an electric pump.

I went thru the same thing, changed to Efuel and got rid of LEAKS! On my second attempt to fix it I got some really heavy duty hose from John Deer, still leaked. I don't know what they do at the factory to get it out the door without leaks?

Just told my brother, I figure they leaked when sitting on Ford lots for sale new.

Figure I will recoup my investment in about 18 months if I gain only 1mpg.

This one is a real concern. If I buy a mechanical pump it probably comes from a second rate factory in a third world country.

Did you guys replace or plug the Fuel Filter Vacuum Switch? AKA fuel filter restriction sensor?

Second to performance upgrades, leaks seem to be the reason to go E-fuel.

It looks like a few attempts at sealing the leaks will buy a new filter housing. Doesn't help me with questionable pumps.

If you need a new lift pump and the works leaks, just go e-fuel.

Just is not worth the money, nor the time to fix that setup. If I ever bought another one of these trucks, that would be the first modification I would do to it.

i have heard nothing but good things about the efuel system and that is why I want it. I bought the truck and it was leaking fuel. Took it in got of fixed new lift pump, lines, etc. I have put on another 500km and the new one is leaking again. I want to get rid of this issue all together and efuel seems to be the best solution. Not saying it doesn't have issues but I've seen a lot of good things about it.

When I bought my second PSD (I've had three) I put my fingers down behind the fuel bowl and showed my fuel soaked fingers to the guy selling it. Saved $500 right there!
