Fuel Selector Valve Stuck Closed?
Background:
My 1987 Ranger 4x4, 2.9l with dual gas tanks was having the fuel cross flow issue and now I think the fuel selector valve is stuck closed.
I have to prime the fuel pump 80 times before it starts (40psi reading on my fuel pressure tester, 30 psi when engine is running), but I can't drive the truck (under load) since it starts to get fuel starved and dies.
I know both the "in tank" fuel pumps are working...I disconnected the source lines going into the fuel selector valve and fuel started to spill out. However, when I tried to prime fuel with the key on ignition switch, no fuel was coming out of the fuel selector valve line going into the fuel reservoir.
I checked online for the replacement fuel selector valve with 6 ports part (E5TZ-9189-B) and the cost to replace is about $300.00.
So, I need to know if there is a fuse for the fuel selector valve to before I order the replacement part and have it short again.
