we have been fixing alum panels for 20 years now they just weren't so much talked about conventical body shop repair grinding, filling ,isn't as much as the paint work paint and materials have skyrocketed the last ten years or so. pdr (paintless dent repair) is good to a point but if its stretched to far they cant fix it . any good body shop can handle alum panels now replacing alum structure that is not bolted on is a different animal all together.

Mine was hit last year while driving through Iowa. Totalled my enclosed trailer and got the truck for 9k in damage. 85 dents on the hood alone. Paintless dent removal on the truck and I can't tell. The guy does a mobile service called dent vision in the Vancouver BC area.
At least my baby survived without a scratch!

Ha! Saw the trailer and the American Motors logo and wording. Was wondering about what that was about, then saw the final pic. Then saw the username. Love it. Good stuff there.

Don't mean to thread jack but that is a beautiful AMX. My dad still has his that he bough brand new but it needs to be restored. He said he'd start when he retired but it's been 4 years already...might end up becoming my project if he doesn't start soon.

Thanks guys, I finished a 4 year build on the car in 2011 and have been driving/showing it since then with upgrades along the way. I'm 7000km into this years car show trip with 5 of the 6 shows done now. Top awards at each show make those late nights worth it! Even had a photoshoot for Hemmings Muscle Machines in the trip while in Vermont!
