I just put the Russel SS lines on my stock truck even though hey are rated for lifted trucks. The extra length didn't really matter...
worth keeping an eye on them they are not rubbing on anything. I have seen several that did not get quite the right twist when installed and they ended up getting a hole rubbed in them.

Yeah I recall that back when I installed them on the white 03 truck I sold. I simply made sure they were bent out of the way and put some plastic conduit on them for protection. FWIW never had an issue for the couple of years I owned the truck. I think there were also talks of the Russell lines being incorrectly labeled from side to side, which caused issues with installation/mounting, I don't think mine were though. Either way good point for those that aren't in the know.
I replaced all of my rubber brake hoses with Russell RUS696490 which were supposed to be for something like 4-5" lift but they were no longer than the stock hoses on my 2005 Ex 4wd with X/C springs from ATS. Been about 2 weeks now, no issues. Brakes are much stronger than before but to be truthful I put on front Powerslot cryo rotors and Hawk green pads along with new Power stop calipers and a complete flush.

Overall brakes are much stronger, not sure how much the Powerstop S4790 calipers contributed to it. They were an exact replacement and the red color looks nice except you can't see them through my solid wheels.
I installed the Crown Performance 5 piece SS brake hose kit on my stock height EX and have not had any trouble with them. You might have to call to get the 5 piece set as it wasn’t listed on their website several years ago when I purchased mine.
I also have the Power Stop caliper/rotor/pads set and they are still great as well. No problems from any of it.

I've got these too, and compared to excursions I've driven with stock brakes, they are a good bit better, but I also can't say if it's the calipers, the pads, or the rotors... or just all of those being brand new, lol.
as for the looks... if you have both rear calipers on the back side of the axle, anyone behind you can see the big beefy red calipers. Who needs trucknutz when you've got Powerstops?

Good Luck on your selection/installation.
Thanks for the feedback on the stock height excursion fitment.
Our 2wd Excursion has 130k on the OEM brakes and we tow a 7k TH.
I've been looking at getting Powerslot cryo rotors and Hawk LTS pads when it's time to replace them.
It seems like it would be a good time to change the hoses and bleed the brakes, too.
Are the braided SS hoses worth it or should I stick to OEM rubber hoses?
I've read the SS lines do not come with support brackets.
I do not see a listing of SS lines for the 2wd from Crown Performance.
The Russell RUS-672440 SS kit at Summit says it fits RWD and 4WD, but is that right there is no difference?
