has anyone of you installed one of the tailgate assist shocks on a 95 ?? i looked around and can't find a kit specifically for the 95 so i was wanting to know what kit can be used..
That's very similar to what full size Broncos use. Bronco tailgates are very heavy without any assist.
I would make sure that where ever the torsion bar touches the body, the area is reinforced to prevent a tear or breakthrough of the sheetmetal

I’m gonna try to figure out a shock for it. I don’t really want to worry about a torsion bar. I take the tailgate off some and think that will be a hassle.
I customized the DeeZee mount system for a 2001 SuperDuty F 250 on to my 95 F150.
I had to grind away some of the tailgate where it has a bump.
So then I hit it with white gloss.
Sorry no pics. Job was OK, took about 4 hours to figure it all out.
Not perfect but it does the job.
Do not skimp, buy the DEezee over the competition (s).
