E4OD dipstick "Fill" Tube

E4OD dipstick "Fill" Tube
Well, I asked this question over in the 7.3L diesel section and realized that it might be better asked here, since all I heard was crickets over there!!
I guess it's really an E4OD Dip-Stick question.
This one seems to be a harder problem! My E4OD has a case ID of
RF-FOTP-7006-CB 96 with 33 on top.
Near as I can tell, that case ID's as a 1990 E4OD "smallblock" V-8 and/or 300 I-6 (truck) Case.
I have 2 different dipsticks & tubes that are the same length but NO "fill tube" (the approx 6" one like below that presses into the case)
The hole in the case for the (short) fill tube is exactly the same diameter as the dipstick tube itself (approx 3/4" [0.750"] diameter)
I was given a fill tube that has a 1/2" (case) end on it so I assume that some E4OD's may have had a smaller diameter hole......or more likely, it's for a different ford trans since the dipstick tube fits the opposite end!
I did find FOMOCO part # XC3Z-7A160-AA fill tubes all over the place for a nominal amount (about $15) but I cannot find any dimensional data except one site said that it's 0.771" at the "case" end....... https://www.transmissionpartsusa.com...-00026352a.htm
And the one above indicates specifies 1997--ON. indicating that maybe 97+ E4OD's and newer 4R100's have a 0.771" diameter fill tube hole? (and they may be mistaken about the 0.771" dia too)
When I went to a FOMOCO parts site, I entered 1996 F250, 4.9L E4OD and it indicated XC3Z-7A160-AA fits!
(another one said it fits everything up to and including the newer 5R110's etc......)
Others said NO.
Anyone know the REAL answer?
Thanks,
Rick

Ok,
Well, went down to the local Ford dealership parts department and bought one of these.
It will probably fit but it's clearly an interference fit by almost 0.020" (AKA "PRESS-FIT")
I have to assume that making it very cold (like dry-ice cold) and using some sort of tool with a mallet is probably the way to do it.
Anyone out there ever installed one of these in an E4OD?
