E4OD Dipstick "Fill Tube"

Howdy all,

Is there anyone here that knows how to find a dipstick fill tube for and pre-1997 E4OD?

The 1997 and later E4OD/4R100 fill tubes are the same and interchangeable The earlier ones don't seem to be.

LOKAR doesn't have an after market dipstick for the E4OD, and if you have an E4OD that has had the short (pressed-IN) fill tube removed and missing they appear to be made of unobtanium.

Am I missing something?

Dear HT32bsx115,
What year is your trans that you are looking for? I might know of a place where you can find one?
1989-96 Ford Bronco
1989-97 Ford F150, F250, F350
Fits 4.9L (300 I6), 5.0L (302) and 5.8L (351w) with E4OD transmission
Must use a 47/64 drill bit to enlarge small hole case.

Does this fit your application?
Broncograveyard have them. Item Number: 31195
Hope this helps.

Howdy,

Thanks for the info! I was aware of this one but it appears that I would have to drill (or ream) the existing hole! I have the fill-tube for the later transmissions + the 4R100

The problem is that the thing is pressed in and it's 0.750" where the hole in mine is smaller.

I have decided to "swedge" it in a home made die so I can press it in. I have the OEM extension + dipstick. I just need to get this short tube into the trans,

They're never supposed to be removed (and most cases already have them installed .........except mine!!)

I am surprised no one else has had this problem!
