FWIW, I get X plan pricing through our Fleet department at work...and I was able to negotiate a better deal in a retail sense when I factory ordered my '17 SD Platinum. I agree with the others above, if Dealer B confirms the truck is available...make the drive and do the deal there.
Most dealers don’t like to trade, unless they are getting something back they can sell.
the truck I purchased was a trade. The Dir Commercial sales told his team not to accept the trade. He went out on PTO, and one of his new staff took the trade. Sales guy got fired for taking the trade. Truck had everything I wanted minus 2 options. Since truck was originally delivered to a dealer on 07-24-2017, when I bought it on 05-25-18, I got a great deal. The 2 options were thrown into the deal free to get the truck off the lot.
Quick question regarding a new SD I'm looking to purchase. (2018 250) I've been dealing with the local dealership and the sales rep has been looking for, and sending me, a few trucks that roughly meet my criteria. Bored at work I started looking around online and found one that is 95% of what I'm looking for at a dealer about an hour and a half away. According to that dealers website that particular truck is 'In Transit'. I informed the sales rep I've been working with about this truck and that it would be perfect- I'll take it. (only thing its missing is a bed liner) Anyway, he hasn't given me a straight answer on why we/he can't go after that particular one.
FWIW- I'll be buying on the AZ plan.
Is there some kind of issue with a dealer transfer on 1. the AZ plan, and 2. a vehicle not in stock yet? I feel like he is holding back for some reason...
Would it be better to just call the dealer who has the truck coming and talk to a sales rep first? Would I somehow end up shooting myself in the foot?
Thanks.
The dealer with the truck has absolutely no obligation to give the truck to another dealer. You want it, go to that dealer and get it!!!!!
