Hi everyone,
My truck has been running hot in my opinion when pulling my 32 foot weekend warrior toy hauler about 13000lbs loaded EOT 235 ECT 230 its gone up to 250 and 245 once I get to the top it cools down but pulling it around town it stays around 225eot - 220ect is this normal I live in vegas and it was 105 outside yesterday.
What oil are you running? If you don't already use synthetic maybe try that.
I just came back from San Diego to AZ on I-8 and it was 107 driving back pulling my Weekend Warrior 5th wheel. Climbing the big hills oil temp peaked at 240 for me, coolant never peaked past 218, but as soon as it wasn't climbing it ran pretty normal with EOT at around 220 and ECT around 210-215 with AC blasting and pulling that heavy trailer around, I think you're good. These things like cooler temps outside, once it gets above 100, they just work a little harder but they have a great cooling system that if maintained properly, work very well.
Im running rottella 15-40 synthetic I can hear the fan but it's not screaming I always have the a/c on ill check the fan today thinking the water pump might be going out does not seem like it is moving enough coolant to cool it down by watching my temps it takes a little time before they start dropping.

If the water pump were weak, in addition to temperatures being higher than normal, I would also think that the temperature difference between the oil and the coolant would be fairly significant (ie not enough flow to cool the oil down as designed).
