I was going to chop ol' Ginger up to steal parts for my green truck... I couldn't do it.
I picked up ol' Ginger about a year ago. I was going to part her out for another truck and we'll... I've got a problem. Don't judge me. She stays.
1973 f350 super camper special
Fe 390 with headers, over sized valves, extra length push rods, an RV cam, and a unilite electronic ignition system.
I had to replace the brakes and bearings all the way around. Master Cylinder was shot. The floor and cab mount on the driver's side was shot. The box had holes that I welded new metal into. I sprayed some cheap box liner into the box, and voila! I was driving victory laps around town with my son.
Actually it was about a month of messing around in my spare time at the end of my driveway in a winter west coast storm with assistance from my 13 year old son.

Wow... BOTH great looking trucks.
And congratulations on having an enthusiastic helper (as enthusiastic as 13 yr olds get... I've had two of my own).
You gonna keep em both?
(the trucks, I mean. I figured the teenager is a long-term project...)
My helper is now 15. He was 13 when I brought Ginger home. I plan to restore Ginger so she can reliably haul my green truck to the track.
I race the green truck. It has a pretty stout 460 under the hood. My daughter helped me build the green one.
I think showing up at the track with my '73 SCS pulling my '74 SCS dragger would be kinda cool.
Eventually I may give Ginger to my daughter if she wants it. My son is getting a '79 f250 4x4 when he turns 16.
The Green truck is daddy's truck. I may end up going viking funeral with that one when I finally kick the bucket.

Can I ask what tires you have on the rear of 'ol Ginger? I like the meatiness of them. I have some tires like 10.5x16.5 something or others (they are supposed to be 10.5 inches wide) but I think they look wuss like they just aren't wide enough. Was thinking of putting in some 2" wheel spacers to get my tires to meet the edge of the wheel well properly.
Heck even the rear tires on your green truck look wider than mine
Of course you may also just have different type of wheels with more offset - but it looks like those rear tires are pretty wide - can you tell me the size?

The tires on the back of my green truck are mickey thompson ET street radials sized 295/55 r15. I think I used a steel 15x10 rim for these tires. They could be 15x12 I can't remember.
The tires on the back of ol' ginger are Bridgestone Dueler 33x12.5 r16.5. I get so much rake on the stance of Ginger I can't fill up the back tank on her completely without a bit of gas leaking out the overflow.
