1st weigh - F450 DRW CCLB 6.7 full tank, one passenger, OEM front bumper

2nd weigh - same truck, 2 passengers & 2 dogs, full tank, same OEM bumper, w/16.5 rated fifth wheel

Added Ranchhand replacement front bumper last fall so there's an additional 300-350 lbs on front axle now

Looks like the OP has only 4 posts in over a year.
If he had read more on this board especially in the tow section, it would have prevented his dilemma.
The SRW F350 can certainly pull 20.6 k lbs with the 6.7 but his problem for the weight he wants to tow is the payload. Or the lack of dual wheels. I’m no expert, but I would bet that legally the Ram 2500 would have the same towing issues with payload.

Here are the stickers from inside the door. I am not sure how to read them except that I am showing a 160" Wheel Base.

GAWR = Gross Axle Weight Rating - amount weight each axle is rated for

GVWR = Gross Vehicle Weight Rating - total amount weight the vehicle (includes actual weight of truck also) /passengers/payload/tongue weight of hitch, etc is rated to carry not the same as amount of weight vehicle is rated to tow

Ford owners manual is actually pretty good at explaining all the different acronyms and their meanings. It was helpful for me to list them as I came across each one and then write brief definition next to it until it started to make sense.

So you have 3322lbs of payload and a 11.5K GVWR. That means you have 20,600lbs of GooseNeck and 18,000lbs of 5th wheel assuming as the note states that is what your 5th wheel hitch is limited to. Anyone correct me if I'm misreading this.

Keep in mind that the 3322 payload needs to account for anything added to the truck including passengers, luggage, tools, hitch, fuel, etc. So if you factor in say 500+ for passengers, 300+ for fuel and 100+ for hitch. All told you can see well over 1000 pounds off so your fifth wheel pin weight (loaded, not dry) would need to be well less than 2400 lbs to be within spec. You can't have a pin weight that low with a loaded 15-16k fifth wheel. Would it tow that fifth wheel, yes. Will it be safe, very debatable, some people do it, I wouldn't. Will it be legal, no.

Like folks already said above, 16k fifth wheels are generally considered dually territory.

on a 16 k 5th wheel, your pin weight alone(3200 #) would almost max out your payload leaving you no room for all the other items mentioned above ( people, fuel, hitch, luggage, tools etc.) which is why it’s considered dually territory.

These calculators will help you figure out what your F350 is capable of for a 5th wheel:

RV Tow Check | Before You Buy RV Calculator

I wouldn't dismiss your ability to tow a 16K 5th wheel yet until you get more specific data on the weights.

Been down this road with my brother in-law. He moved to a 15k 5'er with his Ram 2500, SRW.
Told him I wouldn't do it with my Ford unless I moved to 350 DRW. He responded that's because I don't have a dodge.
One trip with his new camper and immediately moved to a DRW?
