I'm curious to know what the max towing is for my truck for a 5th wheel?
I have a 2009 F-250 Diesel Lariat, CC, 4x4. I currently have a 25' travel trailer that weighs in at 5,000 lbs (dry). We are considering getting a 5th wheel, but I'm not sure if 5th wheel weight is distributed differently since the "hitch" is located in the bed of the truck rather than on the back. I would be interested in knowing what length and weight other users are towing with a similar truck.
Thanks
20% of the 5er is going to go against your payload. Maybe more if you want a toy hauler.
So what you need to do besides consult the towing guide is to weight your truck with how you roll. People, full of fuel and whatever.
then consult your tires. On the sidewall will have the max payload for singles. Take that times 2 (two tires) and then you know what your max is and what your truck weight is.
So all in all you should be able to tow in the neighborhood of 14K 5er.
