Yes, there's spark coming from the coil and the spark plugs...just no gas to the carburator.

Do you mean the Injectors? Just getting this settled, let me see, my mom's Aerostar 4.0 V-6 van had the same problem. The problem was with hers is the fuel pump had a short in the wiring to the battery after $700 later, we got it fixed. (My family don't really like all this FI crap cause we can't work on it.)
Yeah...their fuel injectors. Sayin' carburators was more evidence of my amatuer status as a wrench...which I humbly admit or nothin' would get doen to get our truck back on the road.
Gotta tell ya, I had a glimmer that there might be a glitch somewhere in the line because when it went dead, we were goin' down a washboard, Vermont country road that's designated a Class 4.
Maybe I'll try wiring the main fuel pump up to the battery with an extra long, heavy guage, speaker wire and see if that kicks it on. Thanks for the idea.

There is an inertia switch located in left hand dash panel above the brake pedal, and it has a little button on it. The inertia switch is designed to open the power circuit to the fuel pump in the event of an accident. It can trip without being in an accident if the vehicle is jarred just right, then fuel pump will not run until the little button is pressed to reset the switch. Check your owner's manual if you have one.
I had an 88 F150 that would die on me sometimes...then start up 10-15 minutes later like nothing was wrong...
What size motor do you have in that truck? I don't think it matters on this subject...There is an EEC relay you should check. It was mounted behind the air filter on mine, I'm sure it's the same on yours. There's a small block of them there... 2 or 3 I believe...you should be able to feel them click if you hold on to them and someone else turns the ignition....
Cheap part...like 25-30 bucks from the dealer....
After I spent about $500 having 2 dealers try to find the problem...ehehehe
