wiring harness fire

so that cut off pig tail goes directly to the two browns that keep getting hot. all 3 converge into a messy connection ive never seen and the browns dont look cooked after it. think I found it.


so the previous owner cut those wires and they are hooked up to a trailer brake. those two brown wires thst keep melting are going into that weird connection then seem ok after that. I'm just going to cut out that brown going to that pig tail and re wire the browns to each other and hope for the best

Maybe wire in an “add a fuse” and route it in an area with easy acces, this way if the wires get hot they pop that fuse rather than melt everything around it. Just an idea... Glad you’re making progress.

the short was in the dump body. spent hours in the front of the truck. at least it's fixed.
