I have a 2002 f250 2wd with 94k on the clock. I bought it from the original owner who happened to be a family friend with 71k on it. He was meticulous. It spent most of its life in his shop. He would crank it once a week and let it run, and changed the oil all the time. I have had some minor issues, oil leak at the high pressure oil line, and misc things here and there. at 84k miles I put a ts performance tuner on it. I keep it on 75hp and I do not do any hot ******* at all. I also put a intake on it. This am while traveling to work it downshifted twice, both times at a low rpm. the engine was and trans was warm. It had the trans fluid and filter changed at 70k and I was about to do it again at 100k. the fluid is full and clean as the day it came out of the bottle. The ts chip did change how it shifted but ts said that was normal when I talked to them. any guesses?
I suggest removing the chip to see if it still does it.
First, pull any codes you might have.
It might be normal with the chip, putting the engine in it's power band is an easy way to put more power on tap. But first a good idea to make sure everything else on the engine and tranny is 100% before modifying it.
