Tire Size

I am looking to purchase a set of tires for my 1950 F1 with stock suspension and 15x8 wheels. Does anyone know if I should be able to fit a set of LT235/75R15 tires without any issues? The tire diameter is 29.3". Any info would be appreciated since I will not be able to drive the truck to the tire store and would like to be confident the size I picked out will fit properly when I bring them home.

Doug:
I had the same issue with my coe. After measuring backspace and offset, I took a rim to my local Discount tire store (not far from you) and had them mount a used tire on my rim, with the written understanding (right in the sales slip) that I could return it if any fitment issues.
I returned the monster tire and got my money back. I am sure they will work with you if you are going to buy a new set of tires.

Regards, Mark,

Doug,
Just be sure they are not too big as mine rub the tie-rod when turning sharply. I'm looking at putting 14" on the fronts with narrower tires.
I also have "serve" bump steering which is whole other issue in itself. May have to change out my front suspension at some point soon.

Well, I guess I'll try and get one of the size I want and will bring it home for a test. I'll check the clearance at full turn both ways and report back. Thanks for the tip.

I have a set of used wheels and tires that I took off an Explorer that I bought for the same reason. When you come over Wednesday you can look at them. 5 x 4 ½ or 5 x 5 ½ ?
