Early 1977 Lowboy worth the trouble? w/pics of very beat farm truck

I picked up a real early lowboy today. Totally stock, low miles but was a farm truck its whole life so the body is beat. Equipped with a 400 2V, C6 with mated 205, power steering, dual tanks, 4:10 gears.
Is there anything desirable about this truck or no?
Thanks

VIN shows it is number 4000 off the assembly line.
Impossible!
The serial number, the last 6 digits of the VIN applies to all series of trucks (B & F series, C series tilt cabs, Louisville's, P & W series), Bronco's and Econolines.

1977 ALL trucks/Bronco/Econoline serial number range: O00,001-O99,999 & X80,001-Z25,000.

The last High Boy was assembled before serial number Y20,001 that occurred in February 1977.

What is the last 6 digits of your trucks VIN?

Depends on what you payed vs condition.

The last six are Z04000.

It was free but I was asking if there was anything rare about it, trying to decide if I'm going to mess with it or not.

Considering that the last 1977 truck/Bronco/Econoline was serial number Z25000, your truck was probably assembled in either July or August of 1977, making it one of the last assembled.

Look at the upper left of the Certification Label, glued to the left B pillar (door post) below the striker plate for the production date.

To answer your question, nothing particularly rare but the 78 & 79 models were quite a bit higher production numbers than the 77 and below. It's a 4x4, which were also lower production, but again not exactly rare. It won't make much of a difference in price if that is what you are asking. Worth messing with? Sure depending on what you want to do with it. It has front disc brakes, which are a common upgrade for the pre-76 trucks. It has the NP205, which is a great transfer often sought by the four wheeler crowd. If the 4.10 gears are factory, I would almost bet limited slip as well, but not always.

Post a picture that shows the condition. Beat to one is sometimes pretty good to another, and sometimes vice versa. A picture of the warranty plate on the driver door might help determine what all you have if it is original.

I didn't think the front axle would fit in pre 76 trucks because of the difference in frame width. I think the most valuable thing I see on the truck is the steering box.

The frame width has nothing to do with the front axle.

33 1/2" width between the inner frame behind the cab:

1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boys); 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase & Cab & Chassis.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
37 1/2" width between the inner frame rails behind the cab:

1973/79 F100 2WD/4WD & F250 2WD & F350 except as noted above; 1975/79 F150 2WD/4WD; 1977 F250 4WD from serial number Y20,001 (not a High Boy); 1978/79 F250 4WD; 1979 F350 4WD

With a serial number of Z04000, the OP's F250 4WD has to be a low boy, because the last High Boy was assembled before serial number Y20,001.

See posts #2, #4 and #6.
