Hi, I have a 73 n750 and the dump bed does not work. We had the cable taken off so I could bring it into town to get another like it, and well it accidentally got left in the grocery store parking lot when loading groceries. Needless to st when I returned it was gone. I'm having a hell of a time going to find out what exactly it is I need and where I can get one at. Any assistance would be lovely! Thanks.

No such thing as an N series after 1969. Where did you find "N750" on the truck?
Look on the registration/title, the truck is registered by its specific VIN (11 digits), post what it is.
With respect to the PTO cables, the VIN and Warranty plate info isn't going to help.
In most cases, there are two controls for a dump bed. One is to engage the PTO, and the other is to work the hydraulics to lift, hold and lower the bed.
The cable and lever or handle for the PTO are not Ford parts.
What, if anything, do you have left of the PTO control? Where was it located? Is there a second control for hydraulics?
Go ahead and post the VIN and Warranty plate info, as knowing what truck you have will help with suggestions and a solution.
Rollene, is your PTO dump bed air controlled over hydraulic actuation? Just this past week we had to replace a PTO like this on a dump truck. In this case, the cable was an air line, which was fine, the problem was a seal in the valve of the air control switch. Looked like this:
On the other hand, there mechanical cables for PTO like this:
The foregoing two examples are simply to illustrate how posting images can help others help you narrow down the type of PTO control system you have, so that you can find a replacement cable for it.
