help with trailer!

so this is not a truck question at all, but there are a lot of smart people here

Problem:
Got a trailer tire rubbing against the wall and caused it to fail (damn horse bowed out the wall). I doesn't seem like i can get the trailer repaired fast enough so:...

Short term solution:

Can i use wheel spacers (
Amazon Amazon
) to temporarily move out the wheel so that it doesn't rub (or as much)? Unfortunately, i will have to move the trailer loaded with horses (so about 4-4,500 lbs or so on top of the empty weight) for about 180miles (as they are no "stranded" at my inlaws,,,,while i pay boarding fees at the regular barn..) . The axles are 8 lugs 7K ones. And if i can use the spacers, do all 4 wheels? just on side? or just the one?

Thanks

if anybody knows a good trailer/fabrication north of Fresno (Yosemite south-gate ara) just let me know!

Can we pound the dented part of the wall back with a sledge hammer from inside the wheel well area? Or is it the entire wall that's moved?

don't know...we had to leave in order to get back to work, so we left the trailer back at my father in law. Originally, he wanted to do just that, but he later said that it seemed like the wall moved (but eventually we would just need to pound it back just where the tire meets the wall...)

Just trying to see if there are any solutions that addresses the wheel position and not the wall position so that when we drive up this weekend again we could have multiple ways of solving it

I'd hate to see the wall move again if there's a broken brace.

You have a 1/2" spacer linked. If that is all your really need then one on the problem tire is all you need. I was thinking more like 1 1/2" spacer, if that is the case you need to do the two on the one affected side (this is just to reduce binding during turning).

Do you have torsion axles or springs? I ask because with spring axles you have a seesaw effect and the top of the tire moves laterally in an arc along with moving up/down. With a torsion axle you just have the up/down movement. 1/2" maybe enough just sitting there but not enough to stop it from hitting while going down the road.
