Got a 1997 Explorer rear on my 1954 Ford F-100 , best way to measure back space-- from face of hub side of rotor to edge of bed it is 5 "-- want to use 15 " x 6 " rim--- what have others with this set-up use--- any help will be appreciated how to do it-- Thanks
I have the same explorer differential on my 56 pickup but used 8 inch rims on back with a 4 inch back space, tire size is P255/70 R15. I put 1/4" spacers between the rim and hub to center the tire with stock fenders and have no rub issues. I have 7 inch rims up front with the same back spacing and P235/70 R15
There are on-line charts that help with backspacing. The below one is one I like. But as has been said before, the section width of the tires you select is of equal or more importance. Stu
