Hello- I have been working on getting an axle replaced and acquired the part from the local yard and I immediately noticed the the part numbers were different but of course I did not bring the part (and the yard says of course "the computer says it's OK) . So everything looked the same-EXCEPT the radius arm looked somehow inside out, that being the inside of the old was the outside if the new. But everything bolted up perfect. Problem-When I went to install the knuckle the darned hole for the lower ball joint on the new axle is too small! Like 1/4 inch too small. What a pain- does anyone know if I could just drill that hole out or put in a different lower ball joint- taking that part off and driving 45 minutes to return and get a new and reinstalling is something I might have to do but am not looking forward to it.
Thanks in advance-
tim
I do not know if you can send private a messages or not yet. It used to be you had to have so many posts first before you could PM someone.
But we have a guy here NumberDummy who is our parts professional. He is a retired Ford parts manager and can look up and find what parts fit what...
There appears to be two different part numbers listed for a right front axle from what i can find out.
F2UZ-3006-A
Some sites say this part fits a E150 while others say a E250-350 and some are dependent on what engine and year https://parts.lakelandford.com/p/AXL...F2UZ3006A.html
Part taken out F2UA-3006-BB
Part from salvage YO25-3006-AA
Like I said everything bolted right up but I could not cross reference that axle number to try to get a ball joint part number for it-
But really why am I even bothering I need to just get the right part and not create problems for myself.
Damn.
Well I guess I answered my own question.
Thanks folks until next time!
