1995 Bronco Front Seats

Hey guys. I am thinking of buying a used set of bucket seats with console and frame to put into my 1993 Ford F150 single cab truck. 1) is this a good idea? 2) will it fit? 3) is there enough room in the single cab truck to use the features from the seat such as recline, etc?

Thanks

Ed

Ed - To the best of my knowledge:

1. It's neither a good or bad idea IMHO - if you've got the time and the desire then go for it. I"m sure it will be a cool and unique addition to your truck.
2. Not without drilling new bolt holes and possibly fabricating a bracket AFAIK, but I've heard of the swap being done.
3. Very doubtful, unless you have the seat all the way forward. Even then I'm not positive it will recline that far.

I'm sure some of the old heads can give you a much more in-depth explanation than I could. I will add that my seat swap (while far simpler than what you have in mind) made my truck so much nicer to drive and I think it looks nicer inside too. However you choose to do it, if you swap the seats be sure to post some pictures, I for one would like to see it!

Best of luck,
Evan

NOT a direct bolt in, you will need custom mounts.
YES, they will fit.
NO you cannot recline them, they will be right against the back of the cab unless you have them slid forward

Having looked at my 95 Bronco w/ buckets and my 93 F150 standard cab w/ a cloth bench, I would say it would be pretty easy to do the transplant.
The floor pan is roughly (if not exactly) the same.
1 front bolt on each bucket would need to be added and the two rear bolts of each bucket would need to be drilled in the floor. (Bench seat rear bolt is ~15" rear of front bolt and the bucket rear bolt is ~ 12" back.)

The console is held in place with three self tapping type lag screws, so this should be easy.

Unless the bucket is all the way forward it is highly unlikely you will get any reclining action out of them.
You would also need to add the seatbelts from the Bronco due to the different arrangement and the plastic risers that hold the belt upright for easy access.

Your original post mentions a frame. re you sure you aren't looking at a 40/20/40 bench out of a Bronco. They kinda look like buckets but with a fabric type of center console

Not so sure that any brackets would need to be fabricated to do this.

Make sure you don't drill into anything underneath the floor boards.

EDIT:
After going out and climbing under each with a tape measure, I see that the Bronco has floor reinforcements/ weld nuts built in for both the buckets and the 40/20/40 bench seats. The bucket seat bolts are closer to the doors than the bench seat bolts by several inches.
The standard cab only has the bench seat mount reinforcement built in to floor, but there seems to be plenty of room to add reinforcement washers like which are used when adding aftermarket seat belts.
There would be some light fab work but probably not too bad.

I think S-cabs and Broncos had the same seat options and the standard cab/ crew cabs share the same [front] seat options

yeah, the floors are different in shape and reinforcements .
Bronco an supercab share one floor, regular and crewcab share another.

Also 40/20/40 seats were never an option in a bronco for some reason(buckets and split bench only)

And the only bucket seat option in a regular cab was the 93-95 lightnings

So I stand by my original statements

Yepp. I think you are accurate. (But nobody is challenging you....)
Some Broncos did come with the 50/50 bench.

I think any difference in the floor would be easily adaptable though.
Just make sure to add bearing plates or large washers to the underside to help prevent pull through in the event of an accident.

I like the bench seats better myself.

My bench seat was hurting my back so I put in bronco seats using the exiting holes from the bench seat as a mock up. I can tell that when i checked the buckets were off center from the steering wheel so they are not a direct bolt in.

Actually the EASIEST way to put buckets in a regular cab or crewcab would be to use 40/20/40 seat pan and tracks.
No modifying anything, 100% bolt in

Where do I get that 40/20/40 seat pan? I was wondering if the bench seats from the extended/crew cab trucks of that era are a better fit than the bronco seats? What do 40/20/40 seats look like?

Does this look familiar?
