Hey guys,
I was replacing my shift tube bushings today, and after dropping the column, noticed a broken wire, leading to the shift lever.
All I can think of is this is related to the overdrive light. It has never worked.Never worried about it,as truck runs, and shifts fine.
However,i would like to fix this.I have the factory shop manuels, but cant see anything like this.
Truck is 95 ext cab.XLT HD.Had it about 3 years.Got the bushings installed, but would like to know if this is a replacable part.
No airbag,its 8800 GVW.
You can buy the complete shift lever for like $50 from a parts store, and its a common problem for them to tare from the steering tube turning.
So,the new shift lever comes with this connection, and I put the lever in,and connect the terminals?.I was going to solder the wires(3),but that must
be like 22 gauge???.That could be a real pain. And thanks for the response.Been a member for a couple years, but generally,i get my answers from
reading posts on a weekly basis. You guys have helped me ,although I have not thanked everyone here.
I steal your knowledge, then get it done.So thanks to everyone that helped me for years.
