Ford lost me once over a leadframe in the trans of my 14 F150. Well the dealer did in hindsight. Truth is- when you pay so much for vehicles, you hope you don't get "the one" that sits in a service bay.
But I came back. Picked another dealer.
We have a 15 Expy Limited we bought new. Just passed 37k and it's been awesome. In your case, it sure sounds like an iwe or vacuum issue from their service. A front diff can't go bad from the types of work you mentioned. And they aren't known for failure.
I will tell you when I jumped ship I never felt comfortable. But I was so mad at the dealer I couldn't see straight.
Ironically my cousin is fighting with Jeep right now. She has a new 18 JK Wrangler sitting in the shop for the third time. Will randomly not start. The dealer keeps testing and changing parts. Bad thing is it's a well documented problem on the net and the fix has been shared. Her husband even took the part numbers to the dealer to try and expedite the repair. But the dealer said they are bound by FCA Engineering.
I wish you well.
Thanks fo the info. I agree it is partly a dealer issue in my case too. We love our expy too just been disgusted that at similar mileage as yours we have had to deal with what we have. I also agree the service shouldn't have had anything to do with the issue. I took it in during the winter and cant help but wonder if it was ran in four wheel drive while they had it and it didn't fully engage or disengage. Either way they wouldn't admit that something wasn't right- again dealer issue. You'd think Ford would have better training and protocols for customer facing folks at the dealers. It sounds like car will be done by tomorrow evening. Just hope its finally right again.
Hopefully it will be fixed for good this time. It’s always a pain to go to the dealership, I don’t have much confidence in them (personally).
The best advice I can offer is, if you find a good dealer, stick with them. I have a great dealership that I use. It’s, of all things, a Lincoln dealer. They can do all the work on Fords....warranty or not. They know your vehicle inside and put since the Expi and Navi are basically the same (with obvious cosmetic differences). Anyways, It might be worth looking into if the Expi doesn’t get fixed right. That might open up another option for you. In my area, I found the Lincoln dealer to be more focused on pleasing their customers than the local Ford dealers.
Thank you kindly Sir. We miss our vehicle. Its a super neat people hauler with lots of extra capabilities we haven't tapped into. Talked to a good friend today that his wife has always drove Tahoe or Denali. He likes the new Navigator and as much as I hate to admit it I told him they should drive one that they would love it. Already converted him from Silverado to Super Duty. I think we have a dealer problem in this area as much as anything. I may try another dealer a little over an hour away. They are Ford,Lincoln, and Mazda too I think.
