Apologies as I joined the forum for my Excursion and do not normally visit here. My 04 Nav had its traction control light come on, no error codes. I replaced both rear wheel sensors with no success in making it go out. I took it to a shop that had the advanced diagnostic computers and was told the problem is not the wheel sensors, but the yaw sensor not getting enough voltage. he said he could not diagnose any further and said I'd have to go to Ford. Since then the Traction Control light is now flashing all the time.
If this has been talked about before, I'd thank anyone for pointing out the thread(s) that talk about this. If not, I'd like some suggestions and or cost of repair as I would like to remedy this issue.
TIA
David

So it looks like a new Yaw Rate Sensor can be had for $300-$400. A used one is a bit less. But it seems once replaced you have to have Ford plug in the computer to make it work. I understand its someplace under the dash around the fuse panel. Can anyone confirm this location before I start to contort myself looking under the dash? My bad back will thank you. :-)
So it's been a while, and I am now trying to get the Navigator ready to sell. I have the replacement Yaw sensor, but have not found the old one yet. Might anyone have any ideas where it might be? I've been told passenger side under the dash. I've taken a peek under there, behind the glove box and even drivers side but don't see it.
Interesting, I did scroll down and did not see anything like you mentioned. Just more questions waiting for answers and then the bottom of the page. Then a pop up appeared where it started asking questions about my problem. I'll look closer to the console and see what I can find.
Sheesh!
Just scroll down -it shows a diagram of where it is.
Under the console, between the seats.
Actually, found the very low res image when I clicked on the "More" button. They are showing it inside the center console. I've had the console out and do not recall seeing that. I know the side panels pop off easily in that area, I'll do that and take another look. Thanks for the help.
