Electrolytic capacitors, Since they are 25+ years they should be replaced regardless.

Understood Just wanted to know if these had to do with fuel injectors not firing.

It's kinda' like a lobotomy for your computer.

It'll do a lot of strange things.

Bad shifts, no or erratic codes, injector firing issues not out of the realm of possibilities.

Make sure you go back with at least minimum value caps in the same positions.

You are correct. You read the codes wrong

But the 1992 uses 3 digit codes. It did run but not well at all. Caps come in tomorrow so I'll install them and hope for the best.
Might be time for cheap megasquirt cheaper than the stock eec on eBay. Lol

Ford started to transition from two to three digit codes starting in 1991. It would not be unusual for your truck to display two OR three digit codes. Based on your erroneous 331 and 33 codes, a typical mis-reading of the code flashes, I would not be surprised with your two digit codes.

Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) aka Stator. It's located inside the distributor. The computer uses that signal to fire the ignition and pulse the injectors.

i bought a new computer at pull and save here in Spokane for 15.00 and it had the latest upgrades. boy did that help a lot. thanks for clarifying the injector sequencer.
