Flaking tow hooks
Anyone else experienced this? I got my truck four days ago brand new and never used the tow hooks. I came out today and one has “paint” flaking off entirely. Is this just a cheap chrome paint and not chromed?

My chrome hooks are rusting. Others have that problem as well. I actually use the tow hooks, but the rusting is at the end where they disappear into the bumper...not the end where you would attach a strap or chain. It looks like the chrome coating was not coated completely.

My chrome tow hooks were also rusted at the end that disappears into the bumper, just had them replaced a month ago under warranty.

My chrome ones are the same @29k. Have appointment at dealer for it. Has anyone had them just replace the chrome ones with standard black ones instead? Wouldn’t mind the black and don’t want the chrome ones to do the same thing down the road.

Mine are rusting too, but I just cannot being myself to waste the time sitting at the dealership while the replace them. Plus I can see them putting the bumper back on poorly and it being misaligned.

Question for the masses,
My truck is in the shop as I write getting new tow hooks...and new power folding mirror..and new eyglass holder..and new running board..
anyways...anyone plasti dip their hooks here? and..if yes, did you rattle can or dilute-brush from the can?

X2. Dealer also sprayed rustoleum on the bracket and bolts to keep the rust from coming back. No charge.
