Do you go stock fix or add in ARP studs?

do them both, you will be pretty much there anyway. You could take the fenders off and the front clip if you felt like it?

I don't think I would though.

I’m hoping to java some time this weekend to tear into it. Both heads will come off and if the diesel gods aren’t too mad at me it’ll be just the gaskets. I’ll try to remember to take pictures.

I hope your right and that's all it is, but I don't it's very common for the head gaskets to just fail on the 6.7.

Head gasket issues are extremely uncommon on 6.7s. But, there have been cases of bad cylinder heads.

Finally got that head off. Reckon I'll get the other one off and take them down to have them looked at. Mahle kit was da#n near impossible to find but the internet is a wonderful thing. #1 was wet, the other 3 looked good.

No sir, cab, fenders, and hood are still on. It’s doable, but if you have man hands you’re gonna lose some skin.

Other bank looked good. Heads are at the machine shop getting pressure tested and inspected. Project took a lot longer than I’d hoped, but life happens. Heads should be ready by the time I get home in 3 weeks and with any luck it’ll be running this time next month.

Turns out both heads have cracks in an exhaust port. #1 exhaust wouldn’t hold water without pressure. Can’t remember which port on the other head was leaking as soon as he put a little pressure on it. New bare castings are being built and should be ready in a couple days. Valves and seats all looked good.
