That's horribly hilarious !
I've always said, that it's nice not to have probelms with any companies products, but the measure of a company is how they RESPOND to those problems...
************************************
In my case, Ford responded well to a somewht problematic '02 7.3L 4x2 Ex by giving me the replacement truck option...
I 'acquired' the '02 because of a LARGE Ford dealer's Sunday ad for a 'loss leader' ... Was looking at the Escalade's and liked some features, but HATED the 'arts and angles' look... the '02 had all the bells and whistles that the "Limited Ultimate" should have, ran great on the test drive, and I knew the 7.3L had been out for a while... and at 10K off list, nothing down, .9% financing, and 100k warranty it was a great deal... even though my wife was not wild about the exterior Aspen Green and beige color...
When we had issues with it I discussed it with the svc writer, who I had become acquainted with and had always been freindly and civil with... he went to bat for me, got the svc mgr involved, who got the Ford area rep involved and within a few days was told that they would give me a replacment...
Since I had another opportunity to PICK what I wanted this time, we couldn't find a comparable vehicle since it was now April of '03 and all the '02's were gone...
I balked at the $6 to $8k 'upgrade' cost once we found a possible replacement and spoke to the rep that this problem was not MY fault and how can we resolve this... the next day she came back with a waiver of the $2500 usage fee and $2,000 credit toward the more expensive truck...
We searched the online inventories and still couldn't find one I was willing to accept... then a few days later THE truck showed up on my dealers online inventory... the General Sales manager didn't even know that it was on the lot until I showed him the screen print from the ford inventory search and we went looking for it...
still had the 'saran wrap' and was dirty from the delivery that morning, but the equipment was right, the looks had definite possibilites, so we started the paperwork as soon as they cleaned it up and we said go...
So now I have a GREAT '03 4x4 6.0L monochromatic beast ! And basically got it at the 'loss leader' price of the '02...
I hope Ford steps up to the plate and takes care of everyone's issues... people have a LONG memory...
I still won't even LOOK at a Pontiac after getting shafted 15 years ago on one!
Have you done anything to your Exc, I have 03 Exc with 6.0 love the thing. Only 350 miles but getting great mileage on it. Went from a V-10 Exc to this and very impressed, I will be pulling a three axle Classic 40 footer…that will be the test.
